Thing To Know About Day 2 Tests
Testing requirements for when a
person arrives in the UK from abroad depend on where they have been in the 10
days before they arrive. The red, amber and green list rules for entering
England lists countries and territories as either red, amber or green and
enlist what should be done if a person has been in those countries or
territories.
Private providers can provide rapid antigen test for international arrivals travelling from countries that
are not on the red list. By law, all tests that are privately provided on day 2
and day 8 for international arrivals need to meet minimum standards as outlined
below.
Rapid antigen test for
travel need to be taken by all arrivals from green list and amber list
countries while day 8 tests need to be taken by amber list arrivals that are
not exempt from quarantine and day 8 tests. International arrivals that have
been in an amber list country and are not exempt from quarantine can still opt
in to Test to Release for international travel in order to shorten their
quarantine period. However, providers for Test to Release tests must meet
separate minimum standards.
Providers are also supposed to complete
a declaration that their tests meet all of these standards. This
self-declaration can only be completed by the laboratories that will be
conducting diagnostic test evaluation for mandatory coronavirus testing for
international arrivals. These labs will self-declare on behalf of themselves as
well as all of the organizations they are working with to provide these tests.
They will need to make a list of all organizations that they will be working
with in order to carry out this service. They will also have to list any organizations
they will be working with to carry out genomic sequencing.
